Font
I’ve done my best to precisely match the look of the subtitles from the VHS tapes as closely as possible, but it’s not perfect. For one, I’m not using the exact same font because I don’t know which one they used! And there’s also no practical way to adjust the leading (line spacing) of the typography.

Fades
I’ve also mimicked the fading effect from the VHS subtitles, which is used to indicate when a character is thinking rather than speaking. When possible, the timestamps of subtitles that fade in or out have been adjusted so that the fade transition starts before the audio begins, and ends after the audio ends (I found that doing it this way resulted in a more accurate lip-sync).
