So far, there have been three official releases with English subtitles:
- VHS (1997–1998)
- Perfect Collection (2002)
- Platinum Edition (2004–2005)
Each release has featured a slightly different script for the subtitled dialog. While I haven’t done side-by-side comparisons for the entire series, I have for my favorite parts—and overwhelmingly, I have found the VHS dialog to be the superior English adaptation. And so that’s the script I went with. This may shock some of you, given some of the infamously erroneous translations of the VHS tapes—which is why I’ve taken the liberty to correct them.
